AJA Cion: Hands-On Review

In the following video, Mia McCormick, from KelbyOne Media, takes a quick look at the AJA CION, a 4K-capable production camera and the first ever camera offered from the company. The video explores the design of the camera, which features a sleek magnesium body, shoulder pad, and removable PL lens mount, as well its 4K CMOS sensor with global shutter. McCormick also mentions the various recording formats available, such as true DCI 4K resolution up to 30 fps to proprietary Pak Media SSD drives using ProRes codecs and  4K Raw output via 3G-SDI (up to 120 fps) and Thunderbolt (up to 30 fps). Additional time is spent covering additional I/O ports, including two HDMI, two SDI monitor outputs, and two XLR inputs, as well as the camera’s menu system.
