This is a very nice video, but I still have a question.
Will any of these streaming devices play files I have stored on an NAS drive? I have wmv, mov, avi, mp4, iso and a few others I would want to play, with the .ISO being one of the main ones. I am currently using a Seagate device for this, but it has been discontinued, and one day I will need a replacement. Can any of the devices be used for this?
Thankyou for your assistance!
Dean
I cant speak for all of these devices but the WD device will play nearly any video file on your shared folders from your network, iso files included. The Chromecast might if you were able to run Plex on your server, it wont compare to what the WD device can do though.
The WD TV Streaming Media Player and 1TB Elements Portable Hard Drive (B&H # WEWDBHG7000Q) will be able to work with all of those formats.
Cromecast™ device does not work for us! It had suggested changing the modem! We are on telus™ ( they have provided two modems which neither are compatable with Cromecast™ ( we had to retuen it to Best Buy™ ). Our modems are Actiontec™ we have added an Apple router™ to boost wi fi with our dsl supplier telus™.
