In this B&H Event Space video, traveler and photographer Enrique Aviles discusses his journey from beginning simply as a traveler, to his decision to pick up a camera and share with others the knowledge he gathers from life on the road. During his presentation, Aviles shares many practical tips, including the importance of making a list of where you are going and what you want to document, the benefits of waking up early, the discipline behind hunting for a picture, and how to challenge yourself physically, creatively, and socially in making different types of pictures. He sees documenting one’s travels as an opportunity to tell a personal tale, and a chance to write your own history. Most important, however, he stresses enjoying the process, being grateful for the ability to learn from a wide range of cultures and experiences, and using these experiences to enrich the lives of others.

Shop at B&H: http://www.bandh.com Deborah Sandidge's Website: http://www.deborahsandidge.com Join professional photographer and author Deborah Sandidge as she guides you through creative techniques for photographing and enhancing long-exposure imagery. One of the fascinating aspects of photography is its ability to convey the passage of time, or to create a sense of motion through the art and technique of long exposure. You can create beautiful long exposure images at the edge of night and beyond, and capture surreal photos during the brightness of day. By the use of neutral density filters, you can calm the crashing waves of an ocean, softly blur clouds across the sky, and create the impression of emptiness on busy walkways and streets. This changes everything: the reality, the mood, and the drama of a composition, allowing you to create expressive, fine art imagery.
