Daniel Cartamil, PhD, is a marine biologist and conservation photographer at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. He has studied sharks since 1993 and worked as a fisheries biologist in Alaska, California, and Mexico. His passion for the natural world inspired him to devote 10 years to photographing Baja, California's untamed wilderness for his new book, Baja's Wild Side (Sunbelt Publishing). Eileen Rafferty believes in making meaningful work and discovering something new every day. With an MFA in Photography/Film from VCU and a BS in Physiology from Penn State University, she currently teaches workshops and lectures on creative subjects around the country. She also freelances as a video editor, an Adjunct Professor, and heads a creative consultancy business to inspire and motivate clients to pursue and nurture a creative life. Starting with an empty Lightroom catalog, Grey’s first recommendation is to take a step back before you click the Import button, and to familiarize yourself with all the details of the program so you truly understand how it works. Some of his other valuable lessons include tips for reviewing photos quickly, insights on making the most of keywords, techniques for unearthing specific photos using metadata and filters, and much, much more. After watching, you’ll have a new appreciation for all the different features Lightroom offers.
