Returning for its fifth consecutive year, OPTIC 2019 was the best OPTIC yet! With our planet's environment changing at a rapid rate, the discussion was more poignant than ever. The four-day imaging event explored the inspiration, techniques, and equipment essential to capturing the great outdoors—with an emphasis on conservation. Eileen Rafferty believes in making meaningful work and discovering something new every day. With an MFA in Photography/Film from VCU and a BS in Physiology from Penn State University, she currently teaches workshops and lectures on creative subjects around the country. She also freelances as a video editor, an Adjunct Professor, and heads a creative consultancy business to inspire and motivate clients to pursue and nurture a creative life. John Isaac’s photography is known around the world. He has captured some of history’s most remarkable moments. Isaac has also provided extensive photographic coverage for UNICEF, working closely with several pop culture icons, including legendary actress Audrey Hepburn and famed tenor Luciano Pavarotti. Isaac has won numerous awards and authored many books. Most recently, he has turned his cameras toward wildlife and nature photography projects, releasing The Vale of Kashmir, named one of the year’s best photography books by American Photo magazine. Clifford Pickett is a professional travel, humanitarian, and commercial photographer, videographer, producer, and lecturer. Although he’s based in New York, his work takes him around the globe. Like many travelers, his passion for seeing and experiencing the world is precisely what sparked his enthusiasm for photography. His unique style is a product of his approach: Shoshin, or “new mind”—a perspective of seeing his subjects and the world with childlike wonder, as if it were for the first time. Jim Koepnick is a member of the Sigma Pro team specializing in aviation, sports, and documentary photography. He is also a photographer for the Oshkosh Northwestern (USA Today Network- Wisconsin) newspaper. Clay Taylor bought his first 35mm camera in 1971, specifically to take photos of race cars. A few years later, bird photography became important, too, and more than 40 years later, he is still avidly pursuing both subjects with various digital cameras. Carissa "Car" Pelleteri is a portrait photographer and author. A born-and-raised New Yorker, while growing up in Brooklyn, Car started shooting portraits of herself and her friends at the tender age of ten. From her friendships and life in the city, Car is drawn to raw and candid subjects for their honesty and authenticity. She also has a love for the ocean and its surrounding landscapes. Her first book, titled Surf+Turf:Montauk, was released in 2014. A second exploration, Montauk 11954, is a new release by Schiffer Publishing.

Patricia Davidson is a professional photographer specializing in landscape and travel photography.
