Daniel Cartamil, PhD, is a marine biologist and conservation photographer at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. He has studied sharks since 1993 and worked as a fisheries biologist in Alaska, California, and Mexico. His passion for the natural world inspired him to devote 10 years to photographing Baja, California's untamed wilderness for his new book, Baja's Wild Side (Sunbelt Publishing).
