Samyang has announced a new AF 35-150mm f/2-2.8 FE Lens for Sony full-frame mirrorless systems. This all-in-one lens is designed to toggle the five main focal lengths (35/50/85/135/150) quickly, making it a great option for photographers looking to swap lenses less often.
Equipped with a fast Linear Stepping Motor, this lens promises to be fast and reliable for photographers and videographers. With excellent close-up shooting performance, the minimum object distance at the 35mm wide-angle end is 0.33mm. This is where the nine diaphragm blades will deliver stunning bokeh.
Users looking to capture with the 150mm telephoto end will enjoy a minimum object distance of 0.85m. While it promises to be a dream for portrait photography, the wide zoom range will also be handy for all kinds of photography and videography applications.
Speaking of video shooting, this lens offers several features to enhance the production experience. Functions like Dolly Zoom Shot, or Digital Par-Focal, afford users the opportunity to work with high-level techniques at the touch of a button.
Other functions, like Cinematic Video AF and Linear MF Focus Control, are optimized to make video capture more seamless.
Weighing around 2.7 lb, this lens is well suited for traveling. The weather-sealed body is tough against weather conditions like dust, light rain, and snow. It is also equipped with a locking switch to stay at the shortest 35mm position and prevent accidental extending while on the move.
The lens is compatible with Sony’s Fast Hybrid AF and Eye AF camera functions, correcting shading, chromatic aberration, and distortion. Offering a slew of exciting features, we are looking forward to seeing just how much this lens can do.
