Nanlite Refreshes PavoTubes and Forza LEDs, Expands FS-Series

Nanlite has announced second-generation PavoTubes and Forza LEDs, as well as a pair of new FS-series lights. The new PavoTube II 15C and 30C serve as significant upgrades to their predecessors—including wider CCT ranges, incremental Green-Magenta adjustment, more effects, and wireless control via Bluetooth or 2.4G wireless. The Forza line also sees a laundry list of improvements across daylight and bi-color 60, 300, and 500 LED monolights. Finally, two new bicolor monolight-style LEDs join the Forza lineup: the FS-150B and FS-200B.

While they may appear similar upon first glance, the PavoTube II 15C and 30C are substantial overhauls of the popular tube lights. The CCT range of both has been extended to 2700-7500K and there is now the ability to adjust Green/Magenta by +/- 150. Ten new effects have also been added, bringing the total number of customizable sequences to fifteen. Additionally, the tubes now have built-in Bluetooth so you can control individual or groups of lights from the convenience of your phone using the NANLINK mobile app. Remote control is also possible using 2.4G with a separately available handheld remote or control box. A new, locking metal DMX port presents a final option for off-light control.

The physical design of the PavoTubes has also been optimized to obscure LED diodes better, producing a more uniform light from the units. Smaller endcaps and transparent clips make for fewer distractions in instances when the lights appear in shots. Fastening loops attached to the endcaps, as well as steel safety wires, provides mounting flexibility and security. When used with dedicated barndoors and grids, the second-gen lights can also reach farther than earlier models. A USB-C port has also been added to simplify firmware updates and charging. Battery life ranges from up to 2 hours at maximum output to a whopping 14 hours at 1%. The PavoTube II 15C and 30C are available individually or combined into 2- or 4-light kits.

Alongside the PavoTubes, Nanlite’s Forza lineup sees upgrades across six models: the 60 II, 60B II, 300 II, 300B II, 500 II, and 500B II. Like the new PavoTubes, built-in Bluetooth and 2.4G, along with a locking metal DMX port, have been added to each model for efficient, off-light control. The new 60s also include quieter fans, two new effects in the daylight model, and the ability to update firmware. The 300 and 500 lines introduce +/-80 increment Green-Magenta adjustments, four fan modes including a “smart” mode that optimizes performance based on use, a longer power cable, side-access v-mount battery plates on the control unit, and a redesigned yoke.

Rounding out the announcement are two new bi-color LEDs joining the LS lineup: the FS-150B and FS-200B. Created for lighting small spaces on a budget, the pair of monolight-style LEDs feature a 2700-6500K CCT range, 12 pre-loaded effects, wireless control via Bluetooth or 2.4G, and Bowens-mount compatibility. Add to that intuitive interfaces and straightforward AC power and you have a quick and simple light to set up for beginners and Nanlite veterans alike.
