The announcement of QSC’s next-generation L Class loudspeakers and subwoofer, which deliver exceptional performance and an extraordinary audio experience, will certainly turn some heads. This advanced system features high-output amplification, state-of-the-art DSP, premium components, extensive system intelligence, and an elegantly intuitive user interface. The L Class sets a new standard for ease of use because its users will be able to configure and deploy any L Class system confidently with unmatched speed and reliability. Developed with sound quality and expandability in mind, the new QSC LA108 and QSC LA112 active line array loudspeakers are complemented by the QSC LS118 active subwoofer, each offering a brilliant combination of leading-edge innovation and ease of use. This kind of innovation is not unexpected from QSC, a brand that has been making high-quality, affordable pro-audio equipment for live sound, cinema, and installation markets for more than five decades.
The LA108 is equipped with a highly efficient 1300W Class-D amplifier, delivering 1000W to the 8" woofer and 300W to the 1.75" compression driver, which combine to offer a frequency response of 62 Hz to 20 kHz with a maximum SPL of 134 dB. The LA112 bumps the amplifier configuration to 2400W, delivering 1600W to the 12" woofer and 800W to a pair of 1.75" compression drivers with an extended frequency response of 58 Hz to 20 kHz and a maximum SPL of 136 dB. The LA108 and LA112 feature a proprietary QSC LEAF™ (Length-Equalized Acoustic Flare) waveguide, the ergonomically designed, single-operator QSC RapidDeploy™ rigging system, and QSC AWARE™ (Automatic Wireless Array Recognition) system intelligence, which also provides one-button single box or full array intelligence and optimization.
The LS118 utilizes a 3600W Class-D amplifier to drive the 18" woofer for a frequency response of 41 to 98 Hz with a maximum SPL of 136 dB. The onboard DSP further optimizes and protects system performance while also offering advanced capabilities, such as the ability to array two units in a cardioid arrangement, maximizing low frequency output in front while minimizing unwanted energy around the sides and rear of the system. A DEEP™ mode provides additional low-frequency extension and driver-excursion processing.
The rear panel features two XLR connectors (input and thru), as well as two RJ45 EtherCON connectors for Dante and QSC SysNav™ connectivity. Additionally, two powerCON TRUE1 power connectors allow you to daisy-chain power for easy cabling. The LA108 and LA112 loudspeakers can be deployed using dedicated array frames (QSC LA108-AF and QSC LA112-AF), ground-stacked (array frame combined with optional sub-stack adapter QSC LA108-KIT-SA and QSC LA112-KIT-SA) or mounted in one of two pole cups using loudspeaker stands or poles of various lengths. The LS118 can be deployed in horizontal and vertical orientations in a ground-stack configuration or using one of its two pole receptacles.
The QSC SysNav™ (System Navigator) App for Windows and iPadOS further enhances the L Class user experience, providing the ability to design, configure, control, monitor, and apply signal processing to individual loudspeakers, full arrays or groupings of both easily. Additionally, the AIM (Array Installation Modeling) prediction tool lets the user visualize array coverage by positioning virtual loudspeakers and arrays in a scaled, graphical model of a venue or installation space.
The L Class loudspeakers and subwoofer provide users at every level of experience with the capability to achieve superior sonic performance quickly and easily.
