The B&H 50th anniversary party continues with yet another esteemed company celebrating with us. This time, our good friends at Neumann are announcing a special limited-edition anniversary issue of the venerable U 87 Ai large-diaphragm condenser microphone. With three polar patterns to choose from, the versatile U 87 Ai is an industry standard, offering a timeless and special sound that remains highly coveted for singers, voice-over artists, announcers, producers, and recording engineers.
Only 25 of these numbered commemorative editions will be produced, and included in the package is a custom-colored U 87 Ai with a distinctive titanium-colored finish, along with an EA 87 MT shockmount and a wooden box laser-etched with the B&H logo. The mic features a special serial number beneath the Neumann logo and is engraved with three lines in the center:

Black handling gloves are supplied to protect the microphone’s shiny finish. Collectors will especially treasure the included booklet signed by the Neumann CEO, the engineer who made the mic, and B&H’s CEO, all certifying to the microphone’s authenticity—handy when your great-grandchildren take it to Antiques Roadshow wanting to know what it’s worth.
