B&H Welcomes UDO Audio Synthesizers

B&H welcomes UDO Audio’s magnificent musical instruments to the fold. UDO (Unidentified Dancing Objects) is a UK-based company that creates electronic musical instruments that foster a strong and inspiring connection with the player. By using cutting-edge technology balanced with an intuitive, user-centric design, UDO Audio creates products that are powerful and unapologetically enjoyable. If you did an Internet search for Roland Jupiter 8 alternatives, the UDO Audio instruments are often listed as having the spirit of Roland’s ’80s flagship synthesizer, but with many modern enhancements. They are not clones of any instrument but embody the essence of classic vintage instruments.

Available in black, blue, and limited-edition white, the UDO Super 6 keyboard synthesizer is a 12-voice polyphonic, binaural analog-hybrid synthesizer, which utilizes a combination of state-of-the-art FPGA digital hardware oscillators and voltage-controlled analog technology to create a flexible, powerful, and refined analog tone. Coaxing rich and evolving textures is a simple affair, thanks to the unique super-wavetable core, and can be shaped and manipulated with the binaural analog signal path and flexible modulation. In Binaural mode, the Super 6 features a true stereo signal path in which the instrument’s 12 voices are twinned to form six stereo “super” voices. This assigns the left and right channels their own complete synthesizer voice. Parameters for both channels of each super voice may be independently controlled, allowing the player to create rich and unique stereo images.

The Super 6 is also available in a gray or a limited-edition blue desktop version that reimagines the instrument in a more compact and super-flexible package. The enclosure is VESA compatible for use with widely available monitor arms/mounts or use the optional Rack Ears to mount the synthesizer on a 19" standard rack case (7RU). The Super 6 desktop also includes robust retractable feet for a more ergonomic experience in desktop-use settings.

And finally, UDO’s flagship instrument, the UDO Super Gemini, is a 20-voice polyphonic, bi-timbral analog-hybrid powerhouse. Employing an unprecedented dual-layer design, the Super Gemini provides you with immediate comprehensive control over both timbral layers―allowing you to tweak, mold, and transform your performances on a synth with unparalleled sonic possibilities. Unique, spectrally rich digital hardware oscillators, decorated with expansive tonal features such as wave morphing, cross- and ring-modulation, bi-directional sync and more, all feed into an all-analog signal path inspired by the classic vintage instruments of the past. The Super Gemini is equipped with a 61-note semi-weighted keybed with polyphonic aftertouch, in addition to a custom-engineered ribbon sensor for individual note articulation and a gestural way to explore your sound.
