The easiest dads to find Father’s Day presents for might just be photographers. For starters, there’s almost no end to the well-built and practical accessories they need or want for their cameras. Additionally, new lenses and cameras are always available, so a quick check of the Photography section on the B&H Photo Video website might be the best way to spark an idea for a gift. If not, I’ve asked several bona fide photographer dads and former guests of the

As the line between professional photography and videography continues to blur, one company has chosen to cater to this emerging class of hybrid shooters.
Sony released its first full-frame, interchangeable-lens cameras, the Alpha a7 and a7R, in 2013. With the release of these twin cameras, the company unknowingly embarked on what would end up being a five-year monopoly of the mirrorless camera market. Although not the very first mirrorless cameras of their kind, the a7 and a7R were immediately disruptive due to their revolutionary autofocus

We all know that cameras make fantastic gifts for Mom on Mother's Day (or on birthdays and holidays as well!), but what if Mom is already a photographer? B&H Photo has you more than covered!
Is Mom a professional photojournalist? Is she the designated shutterbug for the local Scout troop? Maybe she is totally into floral macro photos, or is Mom responsible for the awesome family portraits that are framed on the mantle and hang on the wall?
Regardless of her photographic passions, there are always great gifts in all price ranges that can

A thoughtful gift goes a long way, and one gift my mother always appreciated from me was a photograph of some kind, or at least something personalized or something that I created. With this in mind, here are some tips and ideas on how you can gift and share your photography with Mom for this Mother’s Day.
Give Her a Print
We’ll start with the obvious one first—but it’s an obvious choice because it’s a very good choice. Even outside of the context of this holiday, a print is often the best and most final way to display your photographs, so what

I did a quick survey of the women in my life. As it turns out, most of them are somebody’s mother, and one of them is even my mother. I asked what gift they would like for Mother’s Day—items that B&H sells, anyway. Two of them mentioned items they didn’t realize B&H sold, like guitar picks and

Our sun, the star at the center of our Solar System, is a fantastic subject for both viewing and photographing and humans have been viewing it since the beginning of time. A special form of solar viewing is the solar eclipse. There are few experiences in nature as awe inspiring as an eclipse—solar or lunar—when the Earth, sun, and moon align. If you want to observe and study the sun, B&H has what you need to do it safely and do it

If there were ever an event that the entire family should enjoy together, it is the rare majesty of a solar eclipse. Solar eclipses, be they partial, annular, or total, are not entirely rare events, but, before 2017 it had been almost 100 years since the last total eclipse transited North America from coast to coast, and it had been almost 40 years since the last time a total eclipse could be viewed from the United States. In fact, most of Earth's citizens have never witnessed a total solar eclipse.
Let's talk about how to view a solar eclipse

When wedding, portrait, and event photos are required outside of the studio, you often need to bring portable lighting kits. As we all know, houses of worship and event spaces are rarely lighting friendly to the wedding shooter and portrait photographer. While we all wish we had enough hired help to lug full-sized lights and heavy C-stands to our locations, portable light kits help photographers get the shots their clients demand without requiring pack
