Sigma continues to open up its expansive lineup of lenses to more mounts with today’s announcement of the FUJIFILM X-mount versions of the 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Contemporary and 23mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary lenses. These will be the fourth and fifth X-mount lenses in Sigma’s portfolio, representing new options for a super-telephoto zoom and fast wide-angle prime for FUJIFILM X mirrorless shooters.
The 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Contemporary was originally announced in June 2020 as a lens that prioritizes size and reach. On FUJIFILM X cameras, this lens will provide a 150-600mm equivalent focal length range, yet measures just about 8" long and weighs about 2.5 lb. It’s a great companion for birders, wildlife shooters, and sports photographers, as well as those looking for a handholdable zoom that can isolate distant subjects.
The second lens Sigma announced is the 23mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary lens, which was teased back in April 2023 when it was originally launched for E and L lens mounts. This 35mm equivalent wide-angle prime joins the 16mm f/1.4, 30mm f/1.4, and 56mm f/1.4 primes in a well-rounded quartet of fast, compact lenses for FUJIFILM X shooters ranging from ultra-wide to portrait-length focal lengths.
Both lenses are exciting additions for FUJIFILM shooters and are sure to spark curiosity and optimism at the idea of additional future Sigma lens releases for the X System.
