Samsung’s new Galaxy point-and-shoot digital camera delivers the next step in combining high-power compact photography with the familiar element of smart-device technology. The sleek GC110 Galaxy, which comes in white or black, pairs built-in Wi-Fi connectivity with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. Its powerful, intuitive user interface can be customized with a selection of more than 700,000 apps, available on Google Play.
The Galaxy is truly an intelligent point-and-shoot, providing several smart functions to assist you in sharing, transferring and backing up media. Via Wi-Fi hotspot, you can access Buddy Photo Share to tag contacts and instantly upload directly to your favorite social networks. Share Shot lets you automatically send still images to compatible devices within a 200-foot range, eliminating the burden of tedious file transferring. With AllShare Play, other Samsung devices on the same Wi-Fi network can directly access and receive media. Samsung’s efficient Smart Content Manager organizes images and video into albums according to time, date, location, or favorites. Photos can be set to back up automatically in cloud storage (AllShare Play or Dropbox) for worry-free shooting, while support for Bluetooth 4.0 and a dedicated web browser let you enjoy the convenience of smartphone-style features.
The GC110 features a 16.3MP 1/2.3” BSI CMOS image sensor that captures both clear, vivid images and Full HD 1080p video at 30 frames per second. A 1.4 GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM memory keep apps and other camera processes running quickly, with little instance of lag or freezing. The GC110’s built-in data storage houses up to 8GB of media, eliminating the need to carry and sort through multiple memory cards. A 21x optical zoom lens encompasses a 35mm format equivalency of 23-483mm, covering all applications from wide-angle through super telephoto. Optical image stabilization reduces blur caused by camera movement, a feature especially useful at the longer end of the zoom range. Maximum aperture (at the wide-angle end) is a fast f/2.8. Fully automated settings assist those who prefer to work on the fly, while the more detailed shooter can access full manual control. Samsung S Voice gives you the freedom to control your device via vocal commands such as smile, record video, zoom in, and more.
Editing photos and videos is easy and instantly accessible on the Galaxy’s massive 4.8” HD Super Clear Touch LCD screen. Photo Wizard lets you adjust brightness, crop, rotate, add effects, and more, without needing a computer on hand. The remarkable Video Editor gives you the ability to delete and rearrange scenes, add music and insert text into movies; all without ever putting down your camera.
With otherwise identical features, the GC100 Galaxy instead offers 3G mobile broadband connectivity through an AT&T contract. The GC120 Galaxy, available in black or white, offers 4G LTE mobile Internet through a dedicated Verizon contract.

Is it waterproof? To what depth?
No unfortunately, neither model is waterproof.
It will be interesting to read feedback on battery life. The absence of GPS will remove that potential drain, but the processor and wifi may eat it up.
What is the shutter lag?
I am missing a GPS option in the description. Is it not built in? Would make this into a super pocket-able camera.
I like the spec so far.
What about low light shooting? Say compared to a Nikon S9500 which claims can almost do without flash all the time.
If this can do low light too, I'll buy one.
With its CX format, Nikon tried to make the case that camera price need not track primarily with sensor size, but they overpriced their Nikon 1 cameras, at least initially.
Now, Samsung is pushing the strategy farther with connectivity features and is asking us to pay $450 or more for a camera with a 1/2.3" sensor. Sorry, but there is already a solution for easily sharing poor-quality photographs. It's called a cell phone.
64GB microSDHC ? It should be 64GB microSDXC.
Almost perfect, with two exceptions. First, it does not provide for RAW images. Second, it does not have a microphone connector. What's the specs on the lens (manufacturer, type glass)?
