Protective Gear for Landscape Photography

Landscape photography is an unpredictable experience. Unlike certain genres of indoor photography, which take place in safer, more controlled environments, landscape photography is shot outdoors, where you are at the mercy of the elements. To prepare yourself and help keep you (and your gear) safe, we've put together this list of protective gear recommendations.

Photographer Vest

Great for storing smaller accessories and gear, photo vests are a good storage option if you're looking to supplement your camera bag's capacity, or possibly replace it altogether. Most photo vests offer some degree of weatherproofing, including water-resistant pockets, so all of your accessories will stay nice and dry. On top of that, photo vests are less cumbersome than conventional camera bags, so your mobility won't be stymied.

Capture Clip

If you've decided to forego a camera bag, or you're looking for a more accessible, quick-release travel solution, consider adding a capture clip to your inventory. Think of a capture clip as a camera holster. It attaches to a compatible strap or harness (or even a photo vest), giving you immediate access to your camera. Hats
