The Carson HookUpz 2.0 Smartphone Optics Adapter might be one of the most versatile digiscoping solutions on the market today.
In the olden days, when you were looking through scopes or binoculars, the only way to share the view was to hand your glasses to someone standing beside you or to clear out of the way so someone else might use your spotting scope, telescope, or microscope. But those days are gone, and these days the smartphone is used around the world to share everything from photos of lunch to selfies to fine art imagery.

I will be honest. There’s nothing revolutionary happening in the world of smartphones. Don’t get me wrong: Since 2007, phones have improved tremendously in quite literally every metric. But it’s rare to see wholly changed form factors or an entirely different design philosophy. One that may break through, however, is modular devices. It’s been tried before—the LG G5 gave it a go earlier this year, and Google went for full modularity with its Ara. But the G5 suffered from the internal nature of its modules and Ara appears to have been placed on
Today's smartphone market is as crowded as it's ever been. Every month we seem to get some new flagship or iteration, the next “next-generation” device. With so many phones, it’s hard to keep track of them all. You could even argue that when the biggest headline of the day is if a phone has a headphone jack or whether or not it explodes, we might've hit a saturation point.
This is why ASUS is such an intriguing player in the smartphone arena. For the past couple of years, the manufacturer has been jockeying for position among the big boys and
As technology goes, we live in a pretty wondrous time. Every month we seem to edge closer to a Star Trek-ian future, where the gizmos and gadgets of tomorrow occupy the hands and homes of today. Arguably, some of the best examples of this movement are our smartphones, which become more and more capable (and more indispensable) by the season.
But there are side effects to living in such a technologically advanced period. One such drawback is that it's getting harder and harder to be genuinely amazed by anything. This might be a wondrous age,
The iPhone (any model) is a wonderful picture-taking device. How do you make it better? How do you make your iPhone capture what others cannot? Instead of relying on funky filters, you can add lenses in front of the iPhone optics. One of the best ways to do that is with the iPro Lens System by Schneider Optics.
When the Apple Watch first launched in 2015, the rumors surrounding it had reached such a fever pitch it was difficult to discern fact from fiction; to parse all the buzz and marketing buildup from the Watch’s actual bona fides. Now, three years, four series, and several million units sold later, we have a clearer picture of what the Watch can do
Like the other technology-born devices in our lives that we rely on heavily, we ask our smartphones to do a lot and a little at the same time. We want to have a fast, fluid, and seamless experience, but we don’t want to think about it too much. It should just work and be ready to deliver at all times. In fact, there are few things in our lives that we ask to multi-task as much as we do our smartphones. They serve as our entertainment hub, photographer, news source, maître d', and personal assistant. Perhaps, more importantly, they keep us

I once had a car auto vent mount for my cell phone so that I could use it for navigation, and have it somewhere besides my lap or center console. After a few days, it broke. I super-glued it back together. It broke again. I glued it again. Pretty soon there was more glue than plastic on the mount. Eventually, I got a window suction-cup mount that protrudes hideously from my car’s windshield.

Two years ago, I was a mess. Years of sitting and stressing at desks, a love affair with food, and an intense dislike of exercise had not-so-slowly morphed my body type from "athletic" to "sad marshmallow." As a child, I'd been underweight to the point of concern, and by my mid-teens I'd gone from skinny and lanky to somewhat muscled and lanky (thanks to spending hours a day in the pool while being screamed at by a sadistic swim coach). I'd never thought that one day my metabolism would slow and my habits would worsen to the point that my six-
Unless you’re satisfied with the tiny speakers built into your mobile gadget or laptop, consider a speaker upgrade—it is something that can benefit nearly anyone. Here’s another thing most of us have in common regarding speakers: we don’t want wires. Thankfully, wireless speakers are a reality these days, not the stuff of dreams. I had the opportunity recently to try out the Wolverine WIOS-5.8, a new wireless speaker system
The trend in electronic display devices has been toward smaller and smaller screens. Whereas five years ago, people were screaming for smaller, lighter, faster, we’ve actually seen an uptick in the number of people who want things, well… a little more expansive. The iPhone 6 Plus is a good example. Microsoft Surface 3, going from a 10" tablet to a 12" tablet, is another. Rumors of a larger iPad are on the radar; a harbinger that consumers now want some flair in their visuals?
Once you’ve invested hard-earned scratch in a mobile device, the
