Announcing New Soundbar Systems from Samsung

0Share

Samsung recently released a new line of soundbar systems with enough variety to meet the needs of most homes. Starting with the least amount of space required, the HW-S40T is a stereo soundbar that’s only 26.8" wide. It has an optical input for connecting to your compatible TV, and Bluetooth connectivity for wireless streaming from your smartphone, tablet, or computer, with the ability to have two devices connected wirelessly for easy source switching. Music Mode recognizes the genre of music you’re listening to and optimizes the sound settings to match it, and Smart Sound does the same with your TV’s audio.

The HW-Q800T adds more dimensions to your TV audio with the inclusion of a dedicated center channel, two up-firing channels for height effects, and a wireless subwoofer for that bass rumble. Amazon Alexa is built in, allowing simple voice control and integration with the rest of your Alexa ecosystem. Adaptive Sound technology takes Smart Sound a step further by adjusting the settings to let you hear voices clearly, even at low volumes. Game Pro mode detects when you’re playing a console game and optimizes the audio in real time to put you in the center of the action.

Going one step further, the HW-Q900T adds four more virtual channels to provide a more immersive virtual 7.1.2-channel soundstage. Two HDMI inputs and an HDMI output allow the pass-through of HDR 4K video to your TV, and the output supports eARC (enhanced Audio Return Channel), allowing multi-channel audio from your TV’s built-in apps to flow back to the soundbar to provide a single-wire connection to the TV. The optional SWA-9000S can be added on to provide two wireless rear channels; the HW-Q950T takes all the bells and whistles of the HW-Q900T and adds a wireless rear speaker system to provide a more realistic surround sound effect.

The most unique soundbar of the bunch is The Terrace HW-LST70T. It’s a 3-channel soundbar with an IP55 weather-resistant rating, making it suitable for use outdoors. It connects to compatible TVs via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth using the SmartThings app, or via its optical input. It can mount on the wall or a compatible Samsung The Terrace series TV with the included hardware. It is also compatible with voice control by your Amazon Alexa-enabled devices.

Rounding out the list is the SWA-W500 wireless subwoofer. It is compatible with select S series soundbars and connects wirelessly to add 130W of bass to your system.
