Stealthy Cameras for Stealthy People

Why be a fly on the wall at an event or wedding, when you can be a ninja? There are many photographers that love to be stealthy in their own ways. If you'd like to learn the ways of the ninja photographer, then check out these cameras to help you get started.

Minox DSC Spy Camera

Perfect for the double agent, the Minox DSC is a discreet camera that unfolds for your top-secret operations, and then folds back up again for clandestine transport. It features an F/2.8 lens, 3.1MP CMOS sensor, and an LED flash. You'll need a MicroSD card for this tiny camera, Mr. Bond.

The EPC1 can strap onto anything you can possibly think of, while remaining incognito. The camera shoots 5MP stills and 30p video, has a built-in microphone, and a YouTube-upload tool. If your covert operations take you underwater, there is a waterproof casing included that will allow for use at up to a depth of 20'.

Veho VCC-003 Muvi

The Veho Muvi is a versatile acrobat. It comes with a clip that can be attached almost anywhere—like ceilings. If you can't reach it, the Muvi has voice-activated start/stop commands for recording. The Muvi has a 2MP CMOS sensor that records 640x480 AVI video, and can accommodate up to 8GB microSD cards.

Canon SX30 IS

If Batman had a camera in his utility belt, this would be it. At the time of writing this posting, the Canon SX30 IS has the furthest zoom capability of any superzoom camera at 840mm and F/5.8. Featuring 14.1MP, Optical Image Stabilization, 720p HD video with sound and a 2.7" Vari-Angle LCD, it is the perfect alternative to the Mother of all Telephotos.

Leica M9

Leica rangefinder cameras like the M9 have been touted for years as being discreet, stealthy and silent. The M9 features an 18MP full-frame sensor, high ISO settings of up to 2500, a 2.5" LCD screen, and a sturdy build. For quiet shooting, it has a Discreet mode, which recocks the shutter only when your finger comes off of the shutter release button. For the stealthy photographer that needs to get close to a subject, this may be the camera to get.

LOREX Video Sunglasses

You know those cool glasses in Mission Impossible? Well, the LOREXvue sunglasses look just like them. When wearing these slick specs, you'll be able to record up to five hours of 320 x 240 video with stereo sound. Put a microSD card in, and you'll be able to capture even more of that secret meeting you're having behind closed doors.

Swann DVR-421 PenCam

Can it really get more stealthy than a pen? The Swann DVR-421 PenCam can record 640 x 480 video and 1280 x 960 still images for over an hour. When you're all finished being covert, you can use it to jot down ideas and secret codes, or to upload your video to the web.
