Big-screen gaming doesn’t get much bigger than the new 98" Samsung QN90A QLED TV. Whether you’re connecting your next-gen console or your custom gaming computer with a previously hard-to-find video card, the QN90A will render graphics quickly and cleanly with features like FreeSync Premium Pro, Auto Game Mode (ALLM), and Super Ultrawide GameView & Game Bar.
FreeSync Premium Pro specifically reduces lag, tearing, and stuttering by allowing your gaming console to do the heavy lifting of rendering your gaming graphics. Auto Game Mode helps reduce lag by disabling TV-based motion enhancement, and multiple aspect ratios are supported with the Super Ultrawide GameView & Game Bar feature.
The Neo Quantum Processor 4K serves as the brain of the TV, powering effects like 4K AI Upscaling, which upscales all your content to near-4K quality; Motion Xcelerator Turbo+, which smooths out fast-action scenes by adding an extrapolated frame to reduce blur; and Adaptive Picture technology, which optimizes the TV’s brightness levels based on ambient lighting in the room using an onboard lighting sensor. If you prefer a more natural look to your movies and TV shows, Filmmaker Mode—much like Auto Game Mode—cuts out the extraneous effects that overprocessing can have on your content, including those that cause the dreaded “soap opera effect,” displaying the image as it was intended to be seen.
HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG HDR technologies are supported, offering vibrant visuals with compatible content, which is further enhanced with Quantum HDR 32X technology. As a QLED TV, Quantum Dot technology offers a billion individual hues of color, enhancing the color quality of your content with augmented realism.
Like Adaptive Picture technology, SpaceFit Sound optimizes the TV’s audio to meet the needs of the room. Active Voice Amplifier technology boosts the dialogue to counter the effects of noise disruptions, such as a ringing phone or outdoor construction or traffic. If you have a compatible Samsung soundbar, the Q-Symphony feature keeps the TV and soundbar in sync. The Object Tracking Sound feature creates a 3D effect to immerse you in the scene.
Smart TV functionality is enabled by the Tizen operating system, allowing for app downloads and web access via a built-in browser. Samsung Bixby, Amazon Alexa, and the Google Assistant are all built in, enabling voice control of the TV and other connected compatible equipment on the same network, including smart lights, doorbell cameras, vacuum cleaners, and more.
Is the QN90A the right TV for you? Is 98" too much TV, not quite large enough, or just right? Let us know in the Comments section, below!
