Samsung pushes storage performance to new levels with the launch of the T9 Portable SSD and the 4TB 990 PRO PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD. Whether you’re capturing 4K footage on mountainside hikes, or editing content at home from a laptop or desktop computer, these SSDs can streamline your workflow significantly.
Available in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB capacities, the T9 series nearly doubles the transfer speeds of its predecessor, the T7, with sequential read and write speeds of up to 2000 MB/s. The rugged housing helps to prevent performance drops by dissipating heat efficiently during sustained transfers with compatible devices through the USB 3.2 2x2 host connection, so you can offload content quickly from high-end cameras. In addition to being power-efficient, this portable SSD can also withstand extreme temperatures, vibrations, and up to 9.8-foot drops, making it the ideal travel companion when you’re shooting from almost any location.
Samsung is also expanding its 990 PRO series of PCIe 4.0 x4 SSDs with the introduction of the 4TB drive. Available with or without a heatsink, this internal M.2 2280 SSD offers more than increased capacity. With Intelligent TurboWrite 2.0 technology and 4GB of cache, this SSD can achieve random read and write speeds of up to 1600k and 1550k IOPS, respectively. That’s about a 14% improvement compared to the 2TB model and up to 55% faster than the 980 PRO series. Additionally, V8 1Tb high-density NAND and Samsung’s NAND Stacking technology makes it possible to maintain a single-sided M.2 form factor, which makes it easier to install into ultra-slim laptops.
