NVIDIA Introduces GeForce RTX SUPER Max-Q Powered Laptops

NVIDIA has teamed up with its partners to deliver a lineup of GeForce RTX SUPER Max-Q-powered laptops. Delivering up to 25% faster performance than the original GeForce RTX 20-series GPUs, these laptops, with RTX 20-series SUPER GPUs, are ideal for playing games at high resolutions and competitive fps, as well as running resource-intensive creative applications. Both the RTX 2070 SUPER and RTX 2080 SUPER variants will be in Max-Q configurations, allowing for mobile performance and efficiency. One of the major benefits of having an RTX SUPER Max-Q GPU is Max-Q Dynamic Boost technology, which automatically enables real-time GPU and CPU power balancing. This allows the laptop to shift up to 15W of power from the CPU to the GPU during intense gaming sessions. Since Max-Q Dynamic Boost can intelligently assess the power demand of the system on a frame-by-frame basis, power is shifted only when needed, resulting in higher frame rates and a smoother gaming experience.

NVIDIA’s Advanced Optimus technology now enables G-SYNC support. Optimus dynamically selects between the dedicated GeForce GPU and the integrated graphics, depending on which app you’re running. For example, if you’re just surfing the Web, the laptop will utilize integrated graphics, but if you want to play a game, it’ll switch over to the dedicated GeForce RTX SUPER Max-Q GPU. This allows the laptop to conserve battery life. Now, Advanced Optimus technology has G-SYNC support, which provides tear-free, stutter-free gameplay, thanks to variable refresh rate support. Some of the laptop models feature 300 Hz displays, which provide low latency and higher frames in competitive first-person shooters. NVIDIA also uses DLSS to extend battery life while gaming. Using Tensor Cores, DLSS boosts frame rates while working with NVIDIA BatteryBoost technology to operate in an efficient mode.

While RTX Gaming laptops provide an immersive gaming experience, NVIDIA also worked with its partners to develop RTX Studio laptops, which feature factory-calibrated displays, fast RAM and storage, and its own GeForce RTX SUPER Max-Q GPU upgrades. Using NVIDIA Studio drivers, these RTX Studio laptops are accelerated by RTX to run popular creative and design apps. In fact, the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER Max-Q GPU makes it possible to edit up to a 6K RED RAW video in real-time and even render virtual worlds in minutes.
