HP Releases ZBook Studio G7, Create G7, and Fury 17 G7 Laptops

Designed for professionals, creators, and gamers, HP’s Z Series has always delivered top-tier performance, and the latest releases of its 15.6" ZBook Studio G7, 15.6" ZBook Create G7, and 17.3" ZBook Fury 17 G7 are no exception. Let’s take a deeper dive into each of these systems and see how they will help us command and conquer our daily workload.

Built so creators and gamers can achieve real-time rendering, the 15.6" ZBook Create G7 Laptop delivers pro-grade performance in a sleek design that combines power and size into a portable form factor. You’ll be able to configure this system with either a 2.6 GHz Intel® Core™ i7-10750H or 2.7 GHz Intel® Core™ i7-10850H processor, each of which has six cores, as well as 16GB or 32GB of 2667 MHz DDR4 memory and a 512GB or 1TB PCIe SSD. Its 15.6" IPS display delivers a 1920 x 1080 resolution with 170° viewing angles, and the display is backed by dedicated NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q graphics with 8GB of GDDR6 video memory, coverage for 100% of the sRGB gamut, 400 nits brightness, and a 1200:1 contrast ratio. All of this will create sharp visuals, no matter what you’re working on.

As powerful as the ZBook Create G7 is, there are those who will need more, and this is where the 15.6" ZBook Studio G7 Mobile Workstation comes in. One of its biggest benefits is having additional configuration options, with users being able to choose between 2.6 GHz Intel® Core™ i5-10400H Quad-Core, 2.6 GHz Intel® Core™ i7-10750H Six-Core, and 2.7 GHz Intel® Core™ i7-10850H Six-Core processors, 16GB or 32GB of 2667 MHz DDR4 RAM, and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB PCIe SSDs.

HP 15.6" ZBook Studio G7 Mobile Workstation

Depending on how intensive your graphics work is, HP offers the option of an NVIDIA Quadro T1000 Max-Q, NVIDIA Quadro T2000 Max-Q, or NVIDIA Quadro RTX 3000 Max-Q graphics card. While the majority of the display options use Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution with 400 nits of brightness and 100% sRGB gamut coverage, those who require extreme detail will be pleased to see that one of the NVIDIA Quadro T2000 options can be paired with an Ultra HD 3840 x 2160 Dream Color HDR display. The Ultra HD panel has a max brightness of 600 nits and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 gamut. All displays offer wide viewing angles of 170°.

Moving up the ladder, HP’s flagship 17.3" ZBook Fury 17 G7 Mobile Workstation can visualize complex datasets, as well as create, render, edit, and simulate. All of this power is packed into a body that is 1.06" thin and weighs just over 6 pounds. Since it was made for even more demanding tasks, this system can be configured with Core™ i7-10750H and Core™ i7-10850H processors, which have been discussed above, as well as a 2.4 GHz Intel® Core™ i9-10885H Eight-Core and 2.4 GHz Intel® Xeon™ W-10885M Eight-Core processors. The available 8GB or 16GB of memory can be user-upgraded to 128GB, while storage options vary between a 1TB 7200 rpm SATA hard drive or 512GB PCIe SSD.

HP 17.3" ZBook Fury 17 G7 Mobile Workstation

The 17.3" IPS display may be configured with either a Full HD or Ultra HD Dream Color HDR panel, and the available GPU options have been greatly expanded to include offerings from NVIDIA’s Quadro and RTX series, as well as AMD’s Radeon RX and Pro lineups.

All of these systems also feature a UHS-II SDXC card reader, a 720p IR webcam, Bang & Olufsen speakers, a digital mic array, and Thunderbolt™ 3, USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A, and Mini DisplayPort or HDMI interfaces. Network connectivity is achieved with Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), although the ZBook Fury 17 G7 also has a Gigabit Ethernet port, as well as three USB Type-A ports, while ZBook Create and Studio lack the GbE port and only have one USB Type-A port. Also standard is Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless peripherals, and only the ZBook Create G7 lacks an HDMI port.

While I haven’t personally used these systems, HP’s Z Series has always spoken for itself. I would feel comfortable using any of these for just about anything that requires heels to be dug in, thanks to 10th Generation Intel® Core™ processors, large RAM loadouts, fast PCIe SSD storage, powerful graphics, and brightly lit displays with wide viewing angles.
