There's no question that SSDs are not only becoming more of a mainstay, but also increasing in their overall capacity. To this end, Crucial has further bolstered its lineup with the X9 Pro USB 3.2 Gen 2 Portable SSD and X10 Pro USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Portable SSD, both of which are well suited for use at home, in the office, or in the field. To determine which of these is a better fit for your workflow, let's examine Crucial's new offerings.
The X9 Pro will accelerate your workflow, thanks to its read and write speeds of up to 1050 MB/s, making it a solid choice for storing photos, files, and videos. If you need the speed to edit and retouch your portfolio quickly, the X9 Pro fits the bill. The X9 Pro is equipped with a 10 Gb/s USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 interface that is backward compatible with the 5 Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 1 standard.
But, if you need to pack more of a punch, the X10 Pro does not disappoint. Designed for video editors, you'll be able to work without dropping frames and even edit, trim, and render directly from the drive, thanks to its 20 Gb/s USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 interface that features read speeds of up to 2100 MB/s and write speeds of up to 2000 MB/s. The X10 Pro's 20 Gb/s USB-C interface is backward compatible with 10 Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 2 and 5 Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 1 standards.
The X9 Pro and X10 Pro are available in capacities of 1TB, 2TB, or 4TB and come preformatted as exFAT, which is compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iPad, Xbox, and PlayStation, but may also be reformatted for other file systems. They are IP55 rated, meaning they are resistant to water, dust, and drops up to 7.5' on a carpeted floor. To ensure drive security further, AES 256-bit hardware encryption helps protect your data. The X9 Pro and X10 Pro include, upon drive registration, a one-month complimentary trial to Adobe's Creative Cloud All Apps plan. More info on this is available on Crucial's site.
