ASUS announced its latest lineup during its Incredible Unfolds livestream. From the innovative Zenbook 17 Fold OLED to the commemorative Zenbook 14X OLED Space Edition, ASUS delivered a model lineup that has a little something for everyone, such as creators, gamers, business professionals, and more. Read on to see what’s in store for ASUS in 2022.
Zenbook 17 Fold OLED
Working closely with Intel® and BOE Technology Group, ASUS has unveiled the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED, a 17.3" foldable laptop. Its design allows the dual 3:2 12.5" Full HD 1920 x 1080 displays to become a single 4:3 17.3" 2560 x 1920 display. Folding isn’t the only thing the screen is good at, either. The OLED display is PANTONE-validated, which is also TUV Rheinland-certified for eye care, and has a 100% DCI-P3 gamut. It even supports Dolby Vision HDR for vivid picture quality. ASUS has added Harman Kardon-certified quad speakers with Dolby Atmos support.
When combined with the optional ASUS ErgoSense Bluetooth keyboard and touchpad, the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED provides the versatility of multiple different modes, such as PC, Laptop, Tablet, On-Screen Keyboard, Book, and Extend. While its foldable display is its most unique feature, ASUS didn’t make this laptop as just another gimmick. The Zenbook 17 Fold OLED features the latest 12th-Gen Intel® Core™ i7 U-Series processors, Intel® Iris Xe Graphics, and even two Thunderbolt™ 4 ports. There is an HD IR camera that works with Windows Hello and the new Intel® Visual Sensing Controller Chip, allowing the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED to take advantage of several new AI features, such as user-presence detection. The integrated color sensor allows for automatic adjustments of screen brightness and color temperature. For clear video calls, the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED also has a 5MP webcam with ASUS 3D Noise Reduction. ASUS even managed to squeeze in a 75 Wh battery for extended battery life.
Since the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED was engineered with the help of Intel®, it meets the requirements of the Intel® Evo platform. ASUS expects the Zenbook 17 FOLD OLED to be available in mid-2022.
